A Journal of Becoming

A Journal of Becoming

BeingHuman is a door—a journal of becoming.

The Door That Opened My Path

When I started my journey to become a therapist, a few books shaped my path in ways I couldn't have anticipated. One of them was On Becoming a Person by Carl Rogers.

Through his work—helping people discover their own path to personal growth by understanding their limitations and potential—I came to see that becoming is not a destination. It is a process. A gentle, ongoing process of reflection. A movement toward being the person I would like to be. To accept my flaws and limitations, and equally, to embrace my qualities and strengths—something that, in Asian culture, can feel too immodest to express aloud.

Why I Write

I like writing. It is a space for me to slow down, to reflect, and to grow.

Life has taken me through different doors. Each one has led me to see something new—something from a wider perspective. To unpack and repack. To unlearn and relearn.

Two Doors, One Journey

BeingHuman is also a door—A Journal of Becoming.

Here, you'll find two rooms:

The Unlearn Room

A series on unlearning to be human.

This is where we sit with the hard things—the heaviness we carry, the questions we avoid, and the quiet struggles that shape us. Gently dismantling the myths that have held us captive. Backed by psychology. Held by heart. All of it, a quiet return to wellbeing.

賢語 (Xian Yu)

Quite words for a noisy world.

A quiet corner for short reflections—where a therapist meets human stories. Gentle reminders and timeless reflections to illustrate that we are all still becoming. That growth isn't about arriving. It's about unfolding.

Start Your Journey Here

Whether you're here to unlearn, to find quiet words, or simply to feel less alone—welcome to this space—a space curated by a therapist, educator, and human.

Take what you need. Leave what you don't. And remember: becoming is not a destination. It is a process.

Come as you are. You're very human here.
